I couldn't bring myself to post this yesterday because I was so upset. Everytime I sat down to write I burst into tears......
We will not be leaving this Friday for Ethiopia...there was an issue with the court decree and our agency will not be able to get the paperwork together in time for the June 18th embassy appointment. This blog entry gives a good conservative order of how things progress after court. I had asked BFAS if this was the case with our agency before our court date and they said that they are generally better off than most agencies...however this was not really the case.
Our embassy appointment will be July 2nd. This does fall in the peak travel time for Ethiopia so the airfare is MUCH higher ($600 per ticket more) so we have decided to shorten the trip in order to make up some of the difference and will not be staying in the agency's ULTRA Expensive guest house (compared to most guest houses in Ethiopia). So the new travel plans are to leave on Monday June 29th....arriving in Ethiopia on Tuesday morning.....leaving Ethiopia on Friday July 3rd and arriving home in the afternoon on Saturday July 4th.
Each member of the family took the news differently:
I-bawled all day...composed myself enough to call the agency to ask why...cried some more....decided to spoil my kids at home since I can't spoil Sifan yet.
Torrey- was angry and ready to make whatever calls needed to get Sifan home earlier...then calmed me enough to realize it is only another 2 weeks....2 agonizing weeks....but what is 14 days in the grand scheme of things when she has been waiting at least 6 months already
Noah- said "that makes me mad"...i asked why and he said I am ready for her to come home! She has been waiting tooooo long for us.
Carter- dang it....we have to wait HOW MUCH LONGER to stay the night at grandpas?????
Wubi-hand to forehead, fake faint....I can't wait any longer!!!
Now for the positives (because I need them to make it all "okay"):
23 more days to
-get more in shape
-learn more Amharic
-work on Sifan's lifebook
-gather more donations for the orphanage
-make blanket for Sifan
-try to figure out how big Sifan is.....
-.......
23 days.....in less than a month Sifan will be home forever.

14 days will fly by my friend ( I say this only because I know I am too far away to smack upside the head). I am so so so sorry that you have to wait and I LOVE your positives list.
As always we are wishing you all the best.

Ah, Kimberley, I'm sorry about the mess. Less than a month, friend. Less than a month.

Such a bummer, but hang in there! What kind of stuff are you looking for for the orphanage?
