Today I worked during the day at the Y and was reminded why I don't do daycare. The whole week leading up to Friday I talked about Wuby & Carter being in childwatch longer than usual. They were quite freaked out because we had a BAD experience at another Y's childwatch where another Carter took Carter's spot to got the Kid's Gym and he was left on the floor in tears for 45 minutes and amidst the chaos of 60 kids running around a tiny room nobody noticed :(. So on the way today Carter asked "Mommy, are you SURE they will take good care of us?" I reassured them that yes they would take good care of them and they would get a snack there, then daddy would be there to eat lunch with them. So I put Wuby & Carter into childwatch without much fuss and was relieved that there were only about 25 kids there. As I was assisting a client on the leg press at about 11:30 I happened to look over to the Childwatch area and saw Carter holding a peice of paper up to the window. I thought maybe he wanted to show me his art work. As I go closer I saw this:
I went in and Carter burst into tears and handed me 6 more papers just like that. Through his sobs I made out that the teacher said they don't give snack anymore and the kids were STARVING. So I immediately took them out and fed them their lunch. uggggg. I asked how long he had been at the window trying to get me and he said "TOO LONG". Then during lunch Carter burst into tears again as he told me that another boy smacked his hands repeatedly while he was trying to play cars. So I am very thankful that I only have 1 more daytime shift scheduled and back to nights for us so T & I can trade off.
