Today marks 3 months of waiting for a referral. Our agency indicates that we could have to wait another 6 months, which would put travel in next August or September. We are not really in an incredible hurry with this adoption....well except when Wuby is super bored and her brothers are playing Wii & I have something that needs to be done and can't keep her busy. But for the most part we are fine waiting. We have passively looked over a few agency's older child lists for Ethiopia but haven't felt lead to pursue anything aggressively. Each month of waiting is another month that I have more time to deepen Wuby & my Mother/Daughter relationship without additional jealousy about baby sister getting the attention she needs.
With Wuby's adoption we waited 3 1/2 months for a referral! This time it could be 9 months or longer. So we are hanging in there...taking in each day... a day to grow closer together as a family, enjoy each stress and laughter-filled moment, and just be.
