We started early this year with pumpkins (a first for our family....we are usually caught up in some project and do pumpkins the night before). The first week of October we headed to a local farm stand to pick up a few orange beauties.
Now don't let the picture below fool you...Noah never dipped his hand into the pumpkin...he refuses to touch gooey stuff. Torrey & I are always stuck dishing out the yucky stuff.
Noah's bad attitude rubbed off on Wubitu....I can only imagine what is going through her head at this point. In retrospect we should have held off for a week or so and read a few books on pumpkins and Jack-o-Lanterns before having her delve into this with no experience. She did her best to get the stuff out of her pumpkin but always with this disgusted face.
Carter had a great time for the first year getting all of goo out. He was GREAT!!! (notice allergy eyes...but no dark circles...YEAH!!!)
Torrey I secretly had a great time carving everything up with the kids ran off to watch a little TV, even though we have been known to moan and groan about it a bit.
They all loved their pumpkins. Wuby picked a Princess, Carter a pirate and Noah a vampire (not sure were he got that idea....maybe I need to monitor his computer games a little more closely).
Now with the above average weather the pretty pumpkins slumped into a slimy mess in less than a week. Oh yeah and Carter and Landon received extended timeout one day for "killing" Wubitu's Pumpkin...so as of now we have no "harvest" decorations...but it was fun while it lasted.
