living the life. enjoying the journey

So today Carter's disdain for school was kicked into overdrive as he refused to leave the bathroom this morning. I had to piggy back him to the car to get him out. I asked him if he wanted me to take him to class and he said (the little stinker) "It won't help...I will still hate it!!!" So I took him in anyway...gave him lots of kisses, snuggles, and encouragement but he stood there with hands over his eyes refusing to move. I took care of his backpack and lunch and the teacher basically said...you don't have a chooice you need to sit down....so I left him sitting in his chair with his hands over his eyes....of course you know I cried for the next 2 hours. I called Wuby's preschool to see if there were any more openings in thier "enrichment" class for kids who have already had 2 years of preschool and are 5 but not ready for Kindergarten. They do have a spot open in thier 4 days a week 1/2 day program. So the option is open if we need to take him out. I have struggled with sending him since January and as you can see it isn't over yet. We waited the extra year with Noah and he has done wonderfully (though bored at times because they don't progress quick enough in math for his taste) and Wuby will have an extra year at home because of her fall birthday but we sent Carter because he really wanted to go....however, he didn't really make an informed decision as I forgot to include the fact that you do have to actually be quiet and do LOTS of work. So all week it has been a struggle to get him to school. He comes home exhausted and moody (more than before) and begs to not have to go again. Our school district only offers full day Kindergarten so it is a huge transistion for Carter who still really needs a nap. So please pray for us as we decide what to do!!!!!!

Just another example of why schools need to offer half-day Kindergartens!
