10 years ago while I was still in High School and Torrey had recently moved out of his parent's house, we met at work. Aon Innovative solutions have long since shut down be we still remember the fun we had together as we immitated Monty Python together and everyone made fun of my sticky note doodles to my crazy haired crush. Our first date was a movie and Torrey later reported that he loved me instantly because I showed up in a ponytail and baseball cap! After the movie you took me for a ride in your awesome Suzuki Samari!
Crazy, Young, and in love we became engaged after 3 months. Torrey never proposed to me actually. We were looking at wedding rings in the mall and I showed Torrey what I wanted and the sales person talked him into buying it right then and there. Well I talked Torrey into letting me wear it and never gave it back.

3 months later...young, niave, and in love.....even though we promised we would wait 2 years to get pregnant, we decided kind of on a whim to expand our family. The doctor told us we were having a girl. We shopped all summer long at garage sales to fill a dresser full of pink. But to everyones surprise, 2 weeks before our first anniversary we had our little Noah. We were very blessed by our church as they helped to right the blue clothes deficite. We realized very quickly that babies are hard!!!

However, we both continued going to school and working and volunteering at church and it was stressful but we had the most wonderful time together as a small family with our wonderful little boy! We delivered newpapers in the middle of the night with our little bundle of joy sleeping restfully in his carrier carseat, and took impromptu trips to Texas to visit family, and played at the park together in our little trailer park.

Here we are at our bridal shower. Everyone thought we were nuts and we even had offers from well meaning family members to flee out the back door on our special day but we stuck with it and married each other on August 14, 1999. I was 18 and Torrey was 21.

We moved to a bigger house before Noah turned two and loved having the extra room. On Noah's 2nd birthday we decided that we were finally ready for another child. Then 2 weeks before I graduated from college, we had our second bundle of joy...Carter! He was the happiest baby ever!!!
Together as a family we had great times camping, playing legos, and video games, taking bike rides, and making each other laugh! But we knew our family was not complete so we tried again for another child. But God had other plans for us. Over a year and a half our family suffered the loss of 3 babies. The loss was devistating. We went through foster/adopt parent training but left each training without a peace. So we fasted and prayed and decided God was leading us to take the huge financial leap of faith to adopt from Ethiopia. Over the next year God showed us His mighty strength and generosity as 100% of our adoption costs were covered by the time we brought our beautiful Wubitu home to us.
Africa so deaply touched our lives that we will never be the same...and who knows where God will take us in the next years of our marriage....we together as a family are open to what ever God chooses for us!
Thank you for 9 wonderful, fun, adventurous years, Torrey
I have so much enjoyed living life together with you!!!!
Happy anniversary!

It's fun to look at old pictures and hear your story! Happy anniversary. We were young, in love, and naive too...got engaged after dating for 5 weeks. When we married we were 18 and 20 (I'm older).

Happy Anniversary! Being young and naive is the way to go. I don't know how wise people do anything!
