Here are some thoughts from a 7 year old

Me: What do you think about School?
Noah: First Grade is a waste of my time.
(Note: he is feeling a little better this week because they let him check out a chapter book this week... It is kind of freaking us out becasue he was already on chapter 3 of Junie B. Jones and the Super Stinky Bus (or something Junie B-ish) by the time I realized he was silently reading a CHAPTER BOOK. He makes his book worm mama so proud!)

Noah: Carter, you are a Noun, you are a noun!
Carter: You are a Bunny head! (Note: we like this much better than last month's bootyhead so we are letting the name calling pass for now)

Me: Are you excited about your little sister?
Noah: I don't know

Me: Are you going to be nice to her?
Noah: I don't know

Me: Are...
Noah: I don't want to talk about it...I need some alone time.

Okay so Noah has been playing it cool about his new baby sis but when he doesn't think we are listening we know he is really proud:
Noah: I am going to get a new sister. She is in Ethiopia. I am not sure how that is going to work
Nathan: I know
Noah: she got sick because a mosquito bit her
Nathan: where?
Noah: In Ethiopia
Nathan: I mean where?
Noah: ETHIOPIA

Later that night:
Noah: I got a mosquito bite
Torrey : Where?
Noah: In the United States
