Thats right we got our referral today!!!
Her names is Webitu: pronounced [wah bee too] means “the beautiful one”
We will call her Keziah Webitu Ehrman
She is 2 years and 10 months old.
Her birthday is 11/1/04.
She will have just turned 3 when we go to get her!
She can build a tower of 7+ blocks and likes to play with other children!
She is from Southern Ethiopia in the Kembata Region in the town of Shinshicho.
She speaks Kembatisa, so English will be her 3rd language as they speak Amharic in the Care Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Her sad little face makes us want to fly over, scoop her in our arms and smother her with kisses.
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT BLESSING GOD HAS GIVEN OUR FAMILY!
For those who like the nitty gritty, here is how it all went down:
The forum speculators were estimating that the first calls would start at around 3 or 4 Minnesota time (4 or 5 Indiana time) So at 3:45, when we were climbing out of the van from getting Noah from school I heard the phone ring in the house. I abandoned all children, shoeless, with stinky diapers to make a mad dash for the phone. FALSE ALARM... just Destiny calling to announce that she had walked to Grandma D's house from the bus. So I returned to my mommy (and auntie) duties outside and settled everyone in with a snack trying not get myself psyched out...there is no guarantee that we will get a referral today! When the phone rang at 3:51 it was actually very peaceful at the house (I was worried that with 5 kids running around beating each other with light sabers might make our SW hang up on us and lose our number...but God was watching and he knew the perfect....less embarrassing timing for our referral). When the phone rang I used my very rehearsed, sweet hello and was surprisingly very calm, prepared, and remembered how to 3-way Torrey. I lost it when they gave us her family history but quickly recovered. Then the 5 agonizing minutes to wait for the email with her picture. I made simple chitchat with Torrey until I saw her picture and turned into a sobbing blob. Torrey's computer was going very slowly so he had to listen to me bawl my eyes out as I tried to describe her beautiful eyes. When he finally opened the picture he said "she is beautiful!" and I don't remember the rest because it was drowned out with happy tears and excited yelps of joy.
I took the pictures (I made 15 copies at walgreens) to Girl's Night Out and laid her pictures all around me and with every glance I fall more and more in love with her.
Please pray for her in the next few months, I am sure she is confused, and grieving. Also pray that everything goes smoothly with the court process so we can go and get her as soon as possible!!!
Thank you all for your prayer and support through this awesome journey... the best parts have only just begun.

I don't know if you have a K-Mart anywhere around you, but they are having a 50% off clearance sale, but I think it is only good through tomorrow...so you may have to act quick. When you think of K-Mart, you might not be expecting much...but they have some really cute stuff. I bought a bunch of baby clothes for like a dollar a piece. Just a suggestion! I am so happy for your family! She is beautiful...thanks for the email! Amy
